Project Report 1A: Charts and Graphs
This report is a graphical analysis of several statistics relating to recent team sales for subscriptions for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The team is currently made up of ten representatives. Sales vary by different reps for several reasons. We can come up with educated guesses about the reasons for the variations. Some obvious reasons are things such as some reps work more days than others and that some reps are more experienced than others. The graphs and charts represented may not take into considerations all the possible reasons for the variations in sales.
This pie chart shows the breakdown is sales for the week of 1/27/02 by percentage for each rep. Aaron, who is a talented experienced rep, has about a quarter of the total team sales. The four top reps had over 65 percent of the sales. Finding ways of bringing the lesser performing reps up to their level will substantially help total team sales.
This comparative bar graph shows individual reps’ change in sales over a two week period. The goal is to increase total team sales and as you can see, most reps increased their sales. What we want to see is reps consistently getting their sales over the 25 level on a weekly basis and there are few reps performing to that level currently.
Next, we want to look at a ten week progression of my top rep’s sales. Using a smooth line graph, we can see that his sales declined at the end of the year and quickly rebounded. This information can be useful in future planning.
This scatter chart provides a good representation of the seemingly linear relationship between the number of sales written and the amount of compensation. Note that this graph does not account for compensation paid on the hourly level and for driving expenditure.
This frequency table shows the distribution of the number of sales written in the 0-5 range, the 5-10 range, etc. This table represents the ten reps over a two week period. You can see that more than half are not over the 25 level that we would like for every rep to obtain.
